Into the Wild, I Go

October 28, 2017 – Today’s outfit was particularly fun and I had my wonderful little brother break out our super old (but still awesome) Nikon camera.  We spent about an hour exploring our land and the land surrounding our house trying to find places to take “hip” and “artsy” pictures (in my brother’s words).  And for not being a photographer at all, my little brother sure did succeed in taking killer pictures.

Once again, I broke out my favorite pair of boots and paired them with my go-to over the knee socks (but pulled under the knee).  I paired my go-to footwear with a new addition to my closet that I bought from J. Crew Factory (for $7.49 . . . SCORE!), but the cool thing about this dress is it’s actually Madewell.  To some people that is very confusing because how can you buy a Madewell dress from J. Crew Factory when they are two different stores?  The answer to that question is a beautiful thing called “red-line items”.  Certain J. Crew Factory stores receive items from J. Crew Retail, J. Crew Factory, and Madewell that are called red-line items and they immediately go to clearance.  There’s nothing wrong with the items, they are just the extra’s from the warehouses and they are reduced to J. Crew Factory prices.  I picked up this beautiful Madewell dress during my very first shift at J. Crew Factory when I was unboxing red-line items.  And that is also when I realized that all of my future paychecks would go towards J. Crew Factory, and so far 75% of all my paychecks have done just that.  What particularly drew me to this dress was it’s colors and versatility.  Even though the dress is black, I loved that because of the natural tones in it, I could wear my brown boots with it in the winter and my brown Jack Rogers Lauren Sandal.  And I have yet to be disappointed by this dresses versatility.  I’m looking forward to wearing it in the winter and playing around with layering to see what I can come up with.

Blog #3 is full of pictures, so I wanted to keep it short and sweet tonight.  I hope y’all enjoyed attempt #3 at doing this whole fashion blogging thing.

Since most of the items I wore today were either bought on clearance or from a discount retailer, I do not have any links to items I am wearing.  I wish I could find out how to buy these again for y’all but I’m not that tech savvy.

Until Next Time,

Emily Jane
