Pop of Color: Volume 1

November 22, 2017  Details, Details, Details!  That was the focus of this outfit.  Whether it was the delicate beading in my earrings, the subtle polka dots embroidered on the shirt I’m wearing, the ruffle of the sleeves, or the angular accents of my shoes.  Everything about this outfit was packed with little details.

The fuchsia beaded earrings I wore today were just the thing I was missing in my closet.  I love all things pink, however, I struggle to wear pink.  I am very fair skinned and my light hair definitely does not help with my complexion.  As a result, I tend to stray away from lighter colors (including the darker shades of pink) and stick to neutrals, navy’s, and green’s to prevent washing myself out.  Despite my fear of “vibrant” colors, I love these earrings.  They gain the perfect amount of attention in this neutral outfit without being too severe against my skin tone.  These earrings are the Beaded oval dangle statement earrings in vibrant fuchsia from J. Crew Factory [link at bottom of post].  These earrings are exactly the same as the black earrings I wore for my last blog post, just in a different color.  I love the shape of these earrings and the way that they wear.  I believe that they are wonderful for a professional environment, a casual outfit, or a night out.  They are the perfect fun earring for the girly girl in all of us.

Recently, I’ve been on the hunt for more professional-esque clothing from J. Crew Factory that I can purchase.  Most of the time, I still find myself purchasing more casual clothes that do not have a dual usage.  However, this shirt was one of the first exceptions to my purchases.  The small embroidered polka dots and the sheer panel at the top of the shirt are the right amount of fun for a business shirt.  The ruffle sleeves are a fun and flirty element to an otherwise structured shirt.  The fun and flirty ruffles make the outfit just the perfect amount of sassy to make a casual outfit unique.  I love everything about this shirt and I cannot wait for J. Crew Factory to post the link on their website for me to share with y’all.  *UPDATE* The link is FINALLY here.  This amazing shirt is the Drapey Ruffle-Sleeve T-Shirt by J. Crew Factory [link at bottom of post].  And what makes the shirt even better is that IT’S ON SALE!

Here I go again, another post relating to another perfect pair of jeans I found and purchased.  This time these jeans are once again from J. Crew Factory.  They are the Classic blue wash high-rise skinny jean with 29″ inseam [link at bottom of post].  These jeans are super comfortable (like all my other J. Crew Factory jeans).  I love that they are high-waisted.  I have come to LOVE high-waisted jeans because I have a very short torso and I am all legs.  Most jeans hit me way lower than my hips, giving me a ruler like shape.  I’ve come to find that high-waisted jeans give me the perfect shape and make me feel so girly and cute.  I seriously recommend these jeans to anyone, but especially any girls out there who have a very similar body shape to mine.

The last article of my outfit today was the Zoe suede d’Orsay flats in black from J. Crew Factory [link at bottom of post].  I have to be honest with y’all these shoes was one of the most painful pairs of shoes I’ve ever had to break it.  They literally made me bleed multiple times and I found myself seriously questioning why I was constantly putting myself through all that pain.  Well, the answer is very clear: because these suede flats are the absolute cutest pair of flats I’ve ever seen and they were 100% worth the pain now that I’ve fully broken them in.  Another struggle I have is with buying flats.  I have very small (size 6), narrow feet with an extremely high arch.  Most flats are either too wide or they do not fully cover up my arch so they look absolutely ridiculous.  These flats avoid BOTH of those issues.  J. Crew Factory shoes run a tad narrow but I know plenty of people with normal width feet and their J. Crew Factory shoes fit them just fine and are comfortable.  The open midsection of this shoe was perfect for avoiding my high arch problem.  I love these flats so much, so much so that I am about to purchase another pair in the same style just a different color.  If that doesn’t encourage you to buy a pair of Zoe Suede d’Orsay flats for yourself, I’m not sure what will.

Until Next Time,

Emily Jane
