March 21, 2018 – Here I go again y’all! Failing at being consistent about my blogging habits, but today’s snow day gave me the perfect excuse to head outside and enjoy the last wintery day of the season (hopefully). I sure am ready for spring but it was nice to have a little taste of winter since 2018 has been pretty unreliable with it’s weather.
To brace the cold, I headed outside in my trusted J. Crew Factory City Coat in the color Saddle (sadly, no longer available for purchase at the store). I paired the coat with a Burberry Dupe scarf from DSW (again, sadly no longer available for purchase but I link the actual Burberry scarf for those of y’all out there that aren’t broke like I am). My last winter wonderland warmth piece were these adorable Kate Spade New York red bow gloves that I got for a steal (with a matching hat) from TJ Maxx. I am a sucker for any and everything red, because of my fair complexion and blue eyes red looks so good on me and red clothes give me an excuse to break out red lipstick. To keep my little feet warm, I wore my burgundy J. Crew Factory Camp Socks (again, sadly no longer available for purchase but I linked similar camp socks from L.L. Bean which also do a great job at keeping the little piggy’s warm). And my favorite winter weather shoe: my L.L. Bean 8″ Bean Boots in Tan/Brown. I have had Bean Boots from two and a half years and I swear by them. I wore these boots everywhere when I studied abroad. They kept my feet warm, dry, and comfortable while I trekked miles across Europe. They never rubbed and now I wear them all the time because they’re stylish, comfortable, and WARM! They do run a tad big, so I would suggest going one size down.
Under my winter layers, I wore J. Crew Factory’s Scalloped T-shirt in the color Ivory. This top is true to size, extremely soft, maintains it’s shape, and it is so comfortable. This top is also perfect for a casual outfit (like today’s) and it’s also perfect for a business casual environment. Plus, the scallops are such a wonderful touch. For today’s casual outfit, I paired the scalloped t-shirt with J. Crew Factory’s Classic Blue Wash High-Rise Skinny Jean. These jeans are my recent obsession. Y’all know from way back that I love everything about J. Crew Factory Jeans, but these high-rise jeans (or any high-rise jeans from J. Crew – I also have them in black and I’m about to purchase them in white) hit the perfect spot on my body, emphasize all the right assets, and maintain their shape after one wear (unlike most jeans). Last but not least: accessories. My fun accessories for this outfit for if I was taking this outfit out on the town were lots of sparkles from J. Crew Factory (of course!). I wore the Layered Circle Necklace and the Glimmer Circle Stud Earrings. These two pieces look so good together and add the perfect amount of sparkle to any outfit; I have been wearing these accessories nonstop recently to dress out my casual outfits for work.
Ok, y’all that’s all for today. I promise that I will have another post for you before the end of the month and once April starts I will becoming much more consistent about my blogging habits. I love sharing my love for fashion with y’all so it need to be better about it!
Hope y’all enjoyed this last little taste of winter and snow on the east coast like I did today!
Until Next Time,
Emily Jane
