April 13, 2018 – HAPPY FRIDAY Y’ALL! As I’m writing this, I find myself genuinely shocked that we are almost halfway through April. To me, it feels like Easter was just yesterday but nope, here we are almost done with yet another month. 2018 is FLYING by! However, with another month almost over that means we are gradually getting closer to Summer and the subsequent warmer days, weeks, and months. The end of this week was a beautiful sneak preview of what’s to come. And, let me tell you I’m so darn excited for warm weather.
To prep for the warmer weather, it was time to fully break out the bright colors and open-toed shoes. For me that meant, it was time to break out my new Halogen Woven Ruffle Hem Sweater; which is on SUPER SALE right now at Nordstrom Rack. When I saw that the sweater was $15 instead of $80, it was such a great deal that I couldn’t say no. This sweater is so lightweight, the color is perfect for spring, the double pleated peplum is so adorable, and did I mention how cute the color is.
I wore this sweater to work and out around town for some errands and I got so many compliments on the details in the sweater. The buttons on the back of the actual sweater and the double pleated peplum is so unique and adorable. I think that because the sweater is a lighter weight, it would pair perfectly with white denim and short whether they are denim, white denim, or a chino style short. I’m looking forward to playing around with different shorts to test out how they look with this sweater.
Jack Rogers Shop Style Collective Widget
I finished off this outfit with lots of gold details. One of my favorite gold items (actually, one of my favorite items in general) in my closet is my Gold ‘Sparkle’ Jack Rogers Sandal. I got these sandals almost two years ago (during Prime Day because Jack’s are an absolute steal on Prime Day) and I honestly wear them so often in the Spring and Summer that I’m surprised they haven’t started to fall apart. However, Jack’s are made exceptionally well that they last FOREVER. Because of their durability, they are so worth the price tag. I will warn you, if you have never owned or worn a pair of Jacks before, they are quite painful to break in. However, once you break them in, they become extremely comfortable and worth the pain of breaking in and the price tag. I have three pairs of Jack’s (including these) and I hope to add a few more to my collection this summer (on Prime Day, of course). I have linked my specific pair of Jack Rogers worn here and three other pairs that I love. I have the Lauren Sandal in the color cognac and this summer I hope to buy them in the color blush.
The last gold details that I incorporated into my outfit (this time) were a gold bow statement ring from Lilly Pulitzer and gold “sparkle” earrings from Kate Spade. I got the bow ring I’m wearing from Lilly Pulitzer about four years ago after making a purchase (it was a free gift) and I got my earrings from Kate Spade about three years ago as one of my very first Kate Spade purchases. Because both of these items have lived in my closet for a while they no longer available. To save y’all from hearing me repeat myself over and over again about how much I love my J. Crew Factory high-rise jeans, just check out any of my previous blog posts if you need a refresher about my love for them. I wear them all the time and that should show how much I adore these pants. They are also back ordered in almost every size online, so if I’ve finally convinced you to buy a pair I suggest buying them now because they’ll arrive in about three weeks and I promise you they are worth it 100%.
I can’t wait to share all the outfits I get to wear this weekend because of the heat wave coming to Virginia. I’m currently sitting outside on my front porch writing this post in 80-degree weather. Life is wonderful right now.
