October 30, 2017 – The crisp air today called for an outfit full of autumn tones. Burnt oranges, whites, blacks, and browns put together can turn any individual items into a fabulous fall outfit. I wanted to pay homage to the changing weather today by utilizing items from my closet in those specific tones.
Today’s outfit featured lots more items that I’ve collected from none other than J. Crew Factory (surprise, surprise). Every piece of my outfit today was from my favorite store, except for my wonderful shoes. My shoes are Circus by Sam Edelman, that I purchased last winter from TJ Maxx (you all should be realizing that I am very fond of bargains). Because I did purchase my shoes from TJ Maxx, they are not a current season item but I did find a shoe very similar to mine. It is the Phoenix Buckle Ankle Bootie by the same collection as the booties I’m wearing. I love my booties because they are extremely funky and hip, they are so comfortable, and I feel like a million bucks in them.
Now onto the outfit that looks like it’s straight from the J. Crew Factory Catalog (yet again). About two months ago I saw these black high-waisted jeans while browsing the malls and I just had to have them. I have been looking for black jeans and seeing that they were high-waisted and from J. Crew Factory sold me on them. As y’all know from my post on October 27, 2017, I struggled to find the perfect pair of jeans for my figure until I discovered J. Crew Factory Jeans. These particular jeans are the Black high-rise skinny jean with 29″ inseam, from my favorite store of course (link at bottom of post). My shirt just so happens to be another item that I purchased when I got these jeans. The shirt is an Oxford Shirt in the Boy Fit for Women. I love this shirt because it is a classic piece for any wardrobe. I have worn it with my regular jeans, my sidewalk skirts, and just about any pant/skirt, I can find. Because the shirt is white, it is so versatile and the boy fit gives me the relaxed but put together look I strive for. Now, today’s pop of color was brought to you by J. Crew Factory once again. I wore my Everett Field Jacket in the orange color (no longer for sale sadly, but the link for the green jacket is at the bottom of the post). It is the perfect color for fall and the perfect weight for the changing temperatures. The gold detail in the buttons dresses up the jacket but the straighter fit keeps it more casual. I loved pairing the burnt orange with the more neutral tones of my outfit. You really cannot go wrong with this jacket. Now for the fun part: accessories! Although you cannot see my accessories too well in today’s pictures, they were still so fun. I wore my tortoise link necklace from none other than J. Crew Factory, paired with the Golden disc hoop earrings from the same store (shocker!), and the newest addition to my closet (and outfit) the Vintage Inspired Mirror Lens Round Horned Rim Frame Retro Sunglasses sold by WearMePro on Amazon. I loved that I was able to tie in the gold from my jacket buttons to the gold in my earrings, the brown from my bootie soles to the brown in my tortoise shell necklace and sunglasses, and the black from the same two items to my jeans.
Today’s outfit made me feel so incredibly hip and cool, yet sophisticated because of the simplicity of the outfit in general. I can honestly say, I was so confident and felt like a million bucks!
Until Next Time,
Emily Jane
